Great questions as usual!
About Gomper... honestly I have never really given the song a chance. I don't mind it, don't hate it. Now and then I really dig the eastern vibes of that time period, so maybe I'll say its a 6? But I do really like the albums its from. And by the way, as I have recounted here before, my handle of "gomper" was chosen without any thought to is meaning.
Now... songs about the end of the world. Wow! Those are 3 very good songs. I like all of them and I'm having a very hard time here deciding which one is best. Wooden Ships is lovely. And 1999 just has this iconic feel to it. I kinda want to say its a tie for Wooden Ships and and 1999. Again, all great songs. I've never been that into punk rock but I do like London Calling as well.
As a side note I just want to ask you guys, have you had a listen to Easy Sleazey by Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl? Its pretty good, and it sure as heck is timely with all the pandemic related lyrical content.
