I hadn't heard that Robert Freeman passed away last week. Sad news, but he did live a long, good life indeed! He was in his mid 80s! I'm not sure if he took the front cover shots for AHDN, but I know he took the photos for several of the early album's front covers for the band including With the Beatles, which we voted on about 2 weeks ago and I noted here how he was paid peanuts for that session, less than $100! He also for sure took the photo for the other movie soundtrack, Help!, and he took that cool cover shot of the band for Rubber Soul, too.
Funny that you, a hard nosed Fab fan, cast your vote for AHDN at only a 5, one of the lowest ratings by a long shot out of the early 200 plus votes! I can't forget how hot all the girls were over that cover when it was first released, and most guys loved it too, no way I couldn't give it a 10 when I recall how much that cover was loved by Beatles fans. I do consider things like that before I vote. Yet the thing is, even today that cover still looks like a cool cover to me and I guess most Beatle fans agree, looking at the early returns so far.
