I had forgotten to mention before, The Who is a group I felt compelled to buy their whole catalog, including solo albums. Their was John Entwhistle's "Whistle Rhymes", which I learned was his 2nd album. I couldn't find his first "Crash Your Head Against the Wall" which I believe was the first ever WHO solo album.

Pete Townsend then came out with the album "Who Came First". Funny thing about that album, in Townsend's autobiography 'Who I Am' he kept calling the album he did with Ronnie Lane "Rough Mix" (1977) his first album. As I'm reading all this, I kept thinking what about "Who Came First" which was released in 1972!! What's up with that??

So I looked it up, and WCF was an album of mostly demos for the aborted concept album "Lifehouse". No wonder I thought that album was weird at the time, 1972. So I guess that's why Pete says "Rough Mix" with Lane was his first because those are new songs, not leftover demos.

Roger Daltrey then released his first solo album so because he's in The Who I bought it, and so glad I did! Most of those great songs were written by then unknown Leo Sayer.

Just check out this one selection from that album and we see why Daltrey is one of Rock's all time greatest singers!! Man, the guy is an actor as he sings. What feeling!
