RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: mid october...nsc

First, the Rocky Mountains have some of the greatest weather in the world! It's the only place in the U.S. where you can have both warm temps and snow falling at the very same time. You actually got to live one winter up this way to understand all of that, but after growing up in NY state - the weather is light years better out this way - year round!

Yes, while I can't recall the time that my dad took be to my first baseball game at Ebbets Field to see the Brooklyn Dodgers play, since I was only 2 or 3 years old at the time, I do recall my first Mets game at the old Polo Grounds in 1962, that place was once home to the NY Giants for so many years. Just getting to see and go into that old stadium alone was worth every minute of that day. Plus I also recall seeing the old Yankee Stadium that day for the first time too, as it sat on the other side of the river from where the Mets played, so seeing that stadium was kinda like a buildup to seeing the Polo Grounds just a few seconds later. Or 2 years later getting to see the now gone brand new Shea Stadium on opening day in 1964. Gosh, all of those old great sport venues are now long gone, even the old but very cool Mile High Stadium in Denver is gone now, as is the McNichols Area that stood next to it. All of those places are no more, but they do live on inside of me, and yes, in 60, or 70 years from now when both the Pepsi Center, along with myself - will be long gone, my grandson will be able to look back and say to his grandkids, something like "I recall the first time when your great grandfather took me to see the Nuggets play baseball at the old and now gone venue called the Pepsi Center". Yes, but he can only tell that story if I take him! So a 4 hour drive is really nothing, plus hell, the mountain scenery on the way makes the trip a beautiful journey, it ain't like we will be stuck in any traffic getting there! Those are my memories of the NYC area. You would drive 20 miles and it took almost 2 hours every time to get there! Out here you drive 20 miles and it takes about 20 minutes, or less!
