RE: Album reviews, part 2

Well your album review of just one song from the LP was fun to read for sure!

The thing about writing an album review is that you don't have to go overboard on just one or 2 songs, just try to cover all of them on the LP with just a sentence or 2, yet you don't even have to do that if you don't want to, instead just talk in general about the album explaining what is good and bad about it in your mind.

I do hope we still will get in a review or 2 from you on one of the LPs that need one written. One thing to remember about the album reviews versus just posting at the board. Posting at the board while fun - at first is gonna be read by a ton more people, like a few thousand in the first day alone. but in a short time, like 2 to 3 days, that number drops sharply and by the next month said post gets lost in the archives and is rarely read again by anybody. Yet your album review - which at first won't be read by many, let's say only 50 in the first 24 hours (and that's a lot less than a few thousand), well, that number isn't gonna change too much for each and every day - for years on end. So in others words, 20 years from now just as many people per day will be reading your album review as were reading it on the day it got published, while your Gasland post was forgotten just a few days after you wrote it. In just a few years more will have read your album review and in 20 years, maybe 10,000 will have?! Now my numbers here are for sure not 100% accurate, especially for the album review page, it might be a few more readers a day than the number I came up with, but one thing is for sure, a ton more people will read your LP review than who will read your board post in time. Plus while both your board post and your album review will both get archived, your album review will be easier to find via Google and more likely to be found on there - and here, too.

Now to get to you actual post... I never cared about this LP. It was perhaps the biggest disappointment LP for me as a Stones fan when it was released. I just didn't really like it! Whereas I didn't get TSMR when it came out in '67, I can't say I didn't flat like dislike either - whereas I can say that about B&B. But like all of the other Stones LPs that I wasn't crazy about at first (and there weren't too many of them at all), other than DW, they all grew on me including B&B. I don't dislike B&B today and in my case it's perhaps my most underrated Stones album by me - and I'll be re-rating it again soon, too... that should be an interesting one to get to again when it happens. But yes, I got your drift on what you wrote about MY and HS for sure!
