her condition could quite possibly have come on as a result of bad hygiene practices (laziness in hand-washing and needle-use perhaps??) and not from the superior H-product itself, no?
As we have noted, us fans can never know for sure and can only guess. But it's highly unlikely that dirty hands cause liver disease that will kill you, not at least today around people in civilized world anyway. Do you understand how that works and the connection with fecal matter in foods?? If Keith and his family are getting the top of the line drugs, I would think that they were getting the top of the line foods to eat, too. Plus Keith in fact had talked about his having the best chefs in the business, as it was. But even if they weren't getting the top of the line foods to eat, I bet they weren't eating out of garbage cans or going dumpster diving for their meals, either.
But even the rich die from H related addiction, no matter how much money they have. One of Keith's best friends and his H dealer in the early '70s, was Tommy Weber, who was a member of the 1% and had as much money as Keith had, and he too died from his own H addiction, as again, it happens no matter how great your H is. Every junkie is like a setting sun, other than the sun will rise again come the next morning while for junkies and even ex junkies, their new mornings come to an end sooner or later.
