Thanks for that link! Like Keith, I love Sheppard's pie,; I make it myself and it tastes great. But here in the states, we make it just a bit different, and I never made it or had it with lamb before... the way you make it in the UK.... On Wednesday while I was working at the local food bank, we had a bunch of frozen, already made Sheppard's pie in the freezer donated by one of the eastern religion groups who had a retreat over the last weekend, they had a bunch of leftovers for us to give out. Some of the Sheppard's pie was meatless, and I never had any meatless Sheppard's pie before. I was thinking I would bring some of it home with me at the end of the day and try it, but it was all gone by the time the food bank closed. Damn, we had a ton of food when we opened at noon (lots of veggies from local gardens donated this time of year), but by 3 pm when we closed, most of the stuff, other than some can goods, was all gone! But that's what it's there for, to be used.
