BJ/MJ/MT/Fabs/Stupid things rockers have done/VS

Tonight we enter week 849 of the Stones poll and ask this question: Mick Jagger vs Mick Taylor, from 1970 to '73, who contributed more to the Stones?

Week 9 of this Stones VS question and this week its "MJ vs MT" and we will only look at the years noted in the question just like we did with last week’s question.

To make your pick, just click on: Stones Weekly Poll to vote.

vs.

In last week’s Stones poll we asked: Mick Jagger vs Brian Jones, from 1962 to 1965, who contributed more to the Stones? First, last week all of the polls did so well in the poll counts! In a somewhat close Stones vote, but nowhere as close as I was expecting, BJ won out over MJ. To see the final results, just click here: Stones Weekly Poll - week 848 . I’ll also add the results of this poll to the Stones VS Page 2. Just click on “Band Members” when you get to this page to see the results.

Now to the Classic Rock Poll, where it’s week 491, and as usual, we will vote in 2 different polls for the week. In the first, regular poll, we will ask a new question which is: What was the stupidest thing ever done by a Rocker or a rock band?

You will have 28 choices to choose from and for myself anyway, I could vote for every choice listed. Now, please do pay close attention to the question, we aren’t asking you for the worst thing, that would narrow down who I would pick if we were asking that, as anytime somebody is killed, that is about as bad as it gets. But it’s not what we are looking for, what we want to know what the stupidest thing ever done by a rocker or a group. You will see that the Stones come up a lot in the choices, but they are the Stones after all.

Please noted this is one of these polls where it might be hard to read some of the choices on the older browsers thanks to a lot of text in the choices. You can view the choices before you vote if that’s the case at the poll’s archive pages if that’s a problem.

To see the list and then vote in this week’s first rock poll, just click on: Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 1” to vote on this question.

For this week’s VS poll we will ask this question: 'Like a Rolling Stone': Bob Dylan's original vs Jimi Hendrix’s cover, which version is better? This is the second time around with this song, several years ago when we first asked about this Dylan song, we put the Stones cover up against it. This week it’s Hendrix’s cover to compare.

As usual, there are YouTube links to the 2 songs so you can listen to them before you vote. I’m unable to find a video of Hendrix’s best live version of it, played at Monetary in 1967, but if you dig that version better, you can still consider it instead of what’s in the video, as we aren’t rating the video in this poll, only the songs!

To vote in this week’s VS poll, click on Classic Rock Poll, and when you get to this page, choose “Poll 2” to vote on this question.

In last week’s first Rock poll we asked: Who was/is the best Acoustic Guitar player in rock? (Part 4 of 4) This really was a fun poll and I was happy to see that Paul Simon won.

You can check out the full final results by clicking on: Classic Rock Poll 1, week 490, or check out the top 10 from this poll at the Top Ten Lists, Page, 11.

In last week’s VS poll, we asked:'Signs': Five Man Electrical Band's original vs Tesla’s original, which version is better?

This was another fun poll to take part in!! Just click here to see the final results: Classic Rock VS Poll, week 490. You can also check out the final results at the VS results page 2, at the Classic Rock site, just click on: VS Page 2, List Page 10.

As usual, we end this poll post with the Beatles’ poll, where it’s week 244 and week 13 of rating the Beatle albums. The question is: On a scale from zero to ten, how do you rate the album Let it Be ?

The twelfth and final studio album by the Beatles, although not the last one recorded, as Let It Be, which was made before AR but released after it.

A lot of Beatle fans point to this album as the bands most underrated. It was released on May 8, 1970, almost a month after the band broke up. Like the Beatles previous releases, it was a number one album in many countries, including both the US and the UK, and was released along with the motion picture of the same name. Paul wrote 5 of the songs, John 4, and George 1. There was a ton of problems in the band at this point, especially between Paul and George, with George leaving the band for a while at one point after an argument with Paul that is partly shown in the movie. That in part led to John playing a very cool lead guitar riff on Paul’s song “Get Back”, the song that was supposed to be the LP’s title cut, and John’s great guitar playing was the key to why the song was so damn cool, IMO.

You can view all the songs that appear on the album before you vote here. However, if you go to this page, you should just read the song list and don’t pay any attention to my review of the songs and album, since you need to make your own judgement on this LP when you go to vote.

Okay, to vote and rate Let it Be , please use this link: Beatles Weekly Poll.

In last week's Beatles poll we answered: On a scale from zero to ten, how do you rate the album Abbey Road ?

Holy shit, we have never seen the kind of finial result like what we saw in this poll last week while rating an album. “10” was not only the top choice, but it took in – get this… 90.9% of the votes! No poll question ever asked here on rating a album ever did anything anywhere as close as what we saw here last week with Abbey Road . The thing is, it really was that great of an LP!

You can check out the full final results from the poll here: Beatles Weekly Poll – week 243, and here: Or, you can check out all of the Beatle album top ratings at the Beatles Album Page, located at the domain’s Lennon Site.

I apologize for the short poll thread, just be happy we are running any polls at all this week. I have been very ill for a full week now and running a high fever tonight and can’t think straight to write what I really wish to say. I did use a lot of what you see here from last week’s post. I really hate to share my problems with you Gassers like this, really, but when I go a full week without posting here, Gassers will start to email me asking why I didn’t comment on any of the threads. But I haven’t been able to read the board all week, and I do appreciate your concerns. I hope to read some maybe tomorrow if I’m feeling better, as looking at the subject title, looks like there’s some good posts down below.

I thank all of you who voted in all of this week's, and last week’s polls! I do hope all of you have a great upcoming week!
