RE: My picks

Stones poll: A big fat "NO"! This reissue is nothing but a joke. If it was to be like they did for EOMS and SG, and which I thought was going to be the case, then I would have gotten my hands on it the first day it came out. But what they are releasing instead, I have no desire to waste a dime on. This is nothing more than another lazy way for the Stones to take even more money from their fans. Pretty much none of this is new and I rather play my favorite Stones album the way it has always been played. That live stuff would ruin it for me.

They played the EC BS cut on the radio just last week, a cut we all have heard many times in the past. It's okay, but not anywhere as good as the original is. None of that stuff is as good as the original is, no way!

Rock Poll: Brian May is in the lead right now and I don't know why. He is, and years ago was, the most overrated member of the band. I do like him now, so don't get me wrong, but he has that same problem that the Edge has, with his guitar sounding the same on most songs. He's light years better a guitarist then the Edge, but he's got that same problem. So I pick Roger Taylor, who is not only underrated as a drummer, but can play other instruments, and he has a good enough voice to where he could have been the lead singer in another band. What gets me about him, is that even when he is singing, he doesn't lose a beat in his drumming. It isn't easy to sing and play the drums at the same time, and most drummers who I see singing (take Don Henley as an example), are barely playing their drums while they sing, but with Taylor that isn't the case at all. I don't think I've ever seen that in any other drummers while they sing.

VS Poll: The Bowie album by a mile. Music wise, Tommy does have several excellent songs on it, and they are as great as anything on ZStardust, but that isn't what the question asks. When it comes to telling a story, the story told in Tommy is flat out stupid. Whereas the ZS story is suppose to be surreal, and is, the Tommy story wasn't, and the story line flat out sucks. I mean, a kid goes totally blind, deaf, and dumb, simply because his mother tells him over and over again, that he didn't see his dad (who he didn't even know was his dad) kill another man? Really? Then this blind and deaf person becomes the greatest pinball player ever? How the hell can such a person play this game period, by only using the "sense of smell"? You can't smell a pinball! Then all of a sudden he can see, hear, and talk again and well, it's a totally stupid story, yet it's leading in the vote right now, so what do I know.

Beatles Poll: I can hear all 3 being sang, "love it, love you, and the end", but not all at the same time, as one of the poll choices notes. If I want to hear "the end", then I listen for it and I can hear it, and the same deal applies for the other 2. So I'm really blown away by this. Since they do sing "Love you" the first 2 times, I think that gets many to only hear that lyric once it repeats. But since the song's title is "The End", I think I'll go with that one. But it could be any one of the 3 of them.
