I love trains,and like I say, my old man was on the footplate boy and man.

Unfortunately trains in the U.K. don't have that whistle sound, and at fourteen I was only interested in football really so no climbing out of my bedroom window. Which is just as well really, as we lived in a flat on the third floor of a tenement.

I have heard that whistle sound when I've been in the U.S.,and what a joy it is. I even travelled by train once from Wisconsin down to Chicago, really comfortable, but as slow as a week in the jail.
