I hear you. 45 degrees F is best. I only drink the cheap beer ice cold out of the cooler.
It's almost football season and nothing goes better with football than beer. The local Kroger Grocery store sells mix and match bottles of the finest lagers and ale from Europe and the States for a variety 6 pack. It is pure heaven for someone like me. You pay an extra 3 bucks over say a six pack of Budweiser, but it is well worth it in my opinion. All that flavor and in general twice the alcohol content than that domestic six pack. A common six for your friend TM might be: 1 BASS Ale, 1 Starr Hill IPA, 1 Loose Cannon, made by Heavy Seas, 1 Newcastle Brown, 1 Harp, and another IPA I have never tried. Helps to make it a glorious Football Sunday.
When I was in the Navy I took a train from Portsmouth England to a small town in the English countryside I randomly chose. I hate I can no longer recall the name of the charming burg. On the way I ordered a Whitebread Bitter. It was love at first taste. An English fellow opened a small Pub here he named Sergeant Peppers in the early '90s. I was able to drink the stuff there for a decade or two before he moved to sunny Florida. Sadly I have not had any of that incredible juice since. :(
