RE: Gasland's 5th Annual Fundraiser and Raffle

I want to clear up any confusion before I proceed any further: I am ONLY donating the '66 tour program. The rest of the stuff doesn't come from me. Let's give credit, but only where it is due.

The program will be mailed by yours truly directly to the winner. When I get home this evening, I will post a few scans so you can have an idea of what you'll be receiving. I want to stress that this is an ORIGINAL from 1966 and not a reprint.

That Knebworth set is a totally awesome prize! What Stones fan wouldn't want to own this? And as a Stones AND Skynyrd fan, I am almost drooling at the thought that I'll be taking part in the draw to own this set.

I do have one question: are the DVDs region 1?

JF, all you need to check out in your survey is the output by the original pre-crash band: 5 studio albums (6 if you include Muscle Shoals) plus one live album which probably stands right up there with "Ya Ya's" as best ever live album by any band. At least two of the band members have said that they blew the Stones out of the water at Knebworth. It was an entire day of music and, as could be expected, the carefully planned schedule lasted only for the first couple of acts, then everything got delayed. Skynyrd was supposed to play at (I think) 3:00 PM but it was sundown by the time they hit their encore. There was one extra band (10 CC) scheduled to play before the Stones. So when Mick and the boys finally hit the stage, both they and the crowd were probably pretty tired from the long day. I've never seen nor heard the Stones performance from Knebworth but I would love to (hint, hint, LOL!)

Keno, are you sure that the "Free Bird" you watched is from Knebworth? Someone on my Skynyrd board researched this set and was told that the Skynyrd video is the same thing as "FB: The Movie". That video has quite a bit of Knebworth footage, but the version of "Free Bird" is from Oakland (and the solo is edited). This happened because of childish bickering among the various Skynyrd groups of stakeholders. Too boring (and depressing) to go into.

In the much better Knebworth version, you can see RVZ pushing his guitarists towards the tongue-shaped part of the stage, which was forbidden to all acts but the Stones. Leon Wilkeson's cord was too short but the other three made it. Apparently, Mick was pissed. LOL!
