Could be just me with The Soft Parade. It's not that I hate the album or anything. I love a few tracks (Touch Me is one of my favorites), but for me the album as a whole just works less than the other stuff.

I don't think it's just you. The album was tepidly received when it came out and it is considered the weak link in the band's discography. Not unlike GHS for the Stones, but we know what die-hard fans think of that album. We love it! I'm wondering if the same holds true with die-hard Doors fans and "The Soft Parade".
