1. Stones - JJF: perfect opening song for any set.
2. Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You: Stonesy riff (rip off from Brown Sugar) that was used in many commercials, so people will recognise it.
3. David Bowie - Rebel Rebel. (obvious pick)
4. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out: Clear link to Bowie, their best remembered song to dat.
5. Talking Head - Psycho Killer (captain obvious strikes again)
6. Drive Like Maria - I'm On A Train: Fresh Dutch/Belgian band with some solid basslines and a guitar player that kills with solid riffs.
7. Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor: Recent loudness people can dance to.
8. Herman Brood And His Wild Romance - Rock n' Roll Junkie: anthemic song by Dutch legend.
9. The Jam: Town Called Malice - Classic stuff, bit overlooked in the pubs these days.
10. Jarvis Cocker - Further Complications: title track from one of the best albums I picked up this year.
11. Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic
12. Iggy And The Stooges - Search And Destroy
13. Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently. You can't get any louder than Search And Destroy, so this is a great point to throw in this whacky Jack Black song. Classic results in drunken bar crowds all over Europe.
14. The Commitments - Try A Little Tenderness: excellent cover from the great Commitments soundtrack. Otis' version is better, but this one won't give any room for the party to slip.
15. Ike & Tina Turner - Proud Mary
16. Rolling Stones - Tumbling Dice
17. Oasis - Rock n' Roll Star
18. The Killers - Bones
19. The Fratelli's - For The Girl. From the excellent debut album Costello Music. (BTW: Whatever you do, don't listen to the other disc...)
20. The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again.
So...I'd probably have an entirely different list if I had read your post tomorrow. But this one will keep the bar jumping.
