Relative Humidity Readings at or below 10% for this year: 8% on March 6; 7% on March 7; 10% on April 17; 9% on May 6; 6% on May 9; 9% on May 10;
9% on June 19; 8% June 21; 7% on June 23; 5% on June 24 and June, 25; 6% on June 28; 8% on July 5; 9% on July 6 and July 14; 10% July 7; and 7% on July15, 16, 17; 8% on Aug 6 and 7.

The first trace of rain for the year fell on March 15.

A record low temperature was reached on March 26 when the thermometer dropped down to 7 degrees above zero, breaking the old record for the date of 8 above, set in 2016. Then two days later on March 28, the temperature fell to 2 degrees above zero, setting another new low record. The old record for the date was 7 degrees above zero, set in 1994.

A record high temperature was reached on April 11 when the thermometer rose all the way up to 72 degrees, breaking the old record high for the date of 69 degrees, set in 2003.

The 2.41 inches of rain, snow and hail that fell in May this year was the second most precip to fall in any May in the Crestone/Baca since weather records have been kept.

Frost was on the ground Friday morning, June 2.

This July was the hottest July ever seen in the Crestone/Baca, with a an average reading of 70.3 degrees, breaking the old record for highest average daily temperature for any month, period, which was 70.1 degrees, set in July of 2003. This was also only the second time our area ever seen an average temperature reading above 70 degrees in the Crestone /Baca during the month of July. The average reading during the month is normally 66.6 degrees
