My input:

Exile has everything that EVERY other Stones album
only has parts of. It's got the epitome of the
Stones ballad, the epitome of the Stones Rockers,
the epitome of the Stones country, the epitome of
the Stones R&B, the epitome of the Stones blues. Etc.
If I need to list the songs for each classification,
then it's all over!:) For one small price (the Nice
Price:) you get a ton of music. Great guitar playing,
great piano playing, great harmonies, great vibe, great
amalgam of styles etc. It is THE Stones album. None
other can even come close to it if you want ALL the
Stones have to give on one album. It's an incredibly
self-indulgent album that the listener can share in.
It's perfectly flawed, to the point that some of the
most off the cuff sounding songs (Sweet Black Angel)
took days and many takes to get so perfectly wrong.
It's all great. Even songs like Ventilator Blues,
which I personally don't like, has it's own reason
to be on that album. Was there something about
the time that it came out Keno that made you not
like it - i.e. something personal around that time...
the darkness of the early '70's etc? Hopefully you
can one day get into it...but after this long, I
think maybe it's a lost cause:)
