I would like to add that Exile is a very emotional and spiritual album (a great album to listen to when a relationship ends). I also think that Exile has a certain "Raw" quality, which contributes to the dissipation vibe that you mentioned. Also, Exile brings together a lot of musical styles (country, blues, gospel) very successfully. Anyway, I just love it!!!
And speaking of RAW, does anyone like Iggy? The Stooges "Funhouse" is awesome. And Iggy has a very cool song called "Dirt". And finally, Iggy is phenomenal live. (Apologies for the non-Stonesy part).
