Threw a spitter. Used vaseline, mostly, not saliva. Sandpaper, too. Anything to make the ball rotate strangely. And he is, I believe, in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

So how does an admitted cheater like Gaylord Perry make it into the HOF, yet everyone has a cow when it comes to letting Pete Rose in?!?!?!?

Nothing against Gaylord --- I'm an Indians fan and he won the Cy Young while pitching in Cleveland --- but, how can an admitted cheater make the HOF, but the game's all-time hits leader cannot?!?!?!
