Nope, the Bills and Broncos played already this year, in the preseason, and your Bills won... remember?...... As you know, the Bills are my second favorite NFL team (hey, I'm an ex New Yorker, so I still root for the only NFL NY team that's still around... and anybody who claims that the Jets and Giants are still NY teams - all I can say is "get real"... Just where do they play and what one state makes all that money off of their home games? [it isn't NY]! NY fans should have deserted them years ago when those 2 teams deserted NY! Some of us, be it only a few, did).
My Broncos, look like crap this year (once again, but they did look better last week at least, and they got the bye this week), after most in Colorado were thinking at the start of the season that we finally had a playoff team again, after so many bad years. I sure hope that Russell Wilson isn't over the hill (and nobody out here is saying that yet, they are just blaming the new head coach for the team's problems, while only some are calling the trade made for Wilson a bad one - but not because he was too old) [that trade was a bad deal, and I bitched about it back when it took place, since the team gave up way too much for an old man]). Some old QBs can still play great after 10 plus years, but most start to run out of gas and no longer can by that time. Wilson looks like he's over the hill this year (other than for some sparks of goodness here and there at times). I hope he finds some of his lost youth in the next few weeks and proves me 100% wrong, but I said after this trade was made that even if he had one or 2 more good years left in him, that giving away their #1 draft pick for next year in that trade, was an insane thing to do - they gave up too much for him. Plus they signed him to all that money for 5 years!? So what does the team's moronic GM George Paton do this week? He trades the team's best linebacker (Bradley Chubb, who's still one of the best in the NFL) away to Miami for a replacement #1 draft pick. Yeah, get rid of a still young, great player, to make up for this other bad mistake that you made! Denver needs to get a new, better GM before the team gets any better!
I've been a Broncos fan since the 1960s, back when I was a kid living in NY. Saw them play live for the first time against the Jets at Shea Stadium back then. In those days of old, I was a fan of all 3 of the NY teams, plus Denver's team, too, since I always wanted to live in Colorado, and I knew as a boy growing up in and around NYC in the '60s, that one day I would move to Colorado when I was old enough. Didn't get here until the mid '70s, but one thing about me for my entire life, is that I don't lie (other than white lies perhaps), and if I say I'm going to do something, I'll do it sooner or later!
Damn, remember way back when Gasland was still around and we talked football all the time? We haven't had any NFL talk here since! I've said it before here, that closing down Gasland was the smartest thing I ever did, as I just didn't wish to run it any longer since it was no longer a fun job to have or do, and while I miss the Gassers who posted here for so many years, I don't miss all of that work as "board boss"(or as Gasland's mayor, as some called me) at all! But I guess I do miss the football talk we used to have, that was always fun talk! Too bad that almost nobody has passwords today to keep that football talk going. But you and I still do, and since so many still read this now closed board (only open now for our weekly polls), perhaps we should still talk football too once in a while here, you think?
