Hello manny, I guess all things considered, I'm doing ok, thank you. I was reading some of your stuff up above, I sure hope your preparation for retirement turns out to be sound.
like yourself I had planned to retire at 62. In the event however, my personal circumstances changed, and I did a quick recalculation, and went at 60. That will be 10 years ago come this September, and everything has worked out fine.
Several Trades Unions here conducted studies that showed that the earlier their members retired, the longer they tended to live. I think that was especially true for people like yourself whose job entailed hard graft. My advice is definitely retire as early as you can. I think after a lifetime of working, and paying your way, you/everyone deserves the chance to live out their days free from financial worry etc, and all that comes with it. Pity that for so many that is just not the case.
