RE: is ABB better than GHS?

If you really look closely at the numbers, that's not really the case. First, ABB is at 8.5 and GHS is at 8.4, so it actually really a tie - but - there were 20 reviews for GHS sent in, and that's the number where I cut off accepting new reviews from fans for any one album for over 14 to 15 years at least now (I did that so some of the lesser reviewed LPs could catch up in reviews submitted, but it didn't work, as I stopped seeing new reviews sent in after that). ABB on the other hand only has 14 reviews sent in. Most of the fans who have sent in and reviewed the Stones albums on this site/domain either love or at least like all of the Stones LPs that they rated and reviewed (other than Dirty Work of course). So the fact that ABB has 6 fewer reviews sent in, tells me that nobody else bothered to send in any good reviews for it, since they don't care for it.

Most Stones fans won't write up a bad album review for the site, again, they usually only sent in good ones. That, and had I not placed a limit of 20 reviews per album (the limit was set after 3 LPs had already seen more than 20 reviews sent in), my guess is that GHS would have had many more reviews sent in my now and more than likely would have a higher rating.

Also note that for the fan's rating only - which goes only by the polls we all voted on, both are tied at an 8.0. but ABB was rated only a few months after it was released, and fans tend to like a new LP more so early on. I think the B&L LP is a good example of this fact, as today it doesn't seem that well loved anymore compared to just 2 years ago when it first came out. I bet it won't see the 9.0 rating today that we gave it a few months after its release, if we rated it again now (maybe we should re-rate that one?).

So again, everybody wants to rate and review only the most liked LPs, and other than Some Girls, which has been stuck on 18, all the other top rated albums have 20 or more reviews sent in (Exile has the most at 27 - and was why I started to place limits on each album). Yet almost nobody sends in album reviews anymore. B&L has only one sent in, and out of the true studio albums (not counting LPs like Meta or Flowers), England's Newest Hitmakers has the second least sent in at only 8, with Out Of Our Heads next at only 9. Anybody want to review them? I would still love to see some more reviews sent in for them or any of the LPs still under 20.

One last thing, you noted "according to fans' reviews here". For the most part, I say "no" to that too, since around 90% of the reviews listed and posted weren't made by Gassers. I never understood that, Gassers love to post a lot here for years - but few of them would ever send in a review - even in this board's busy heyday of yesteryear. Some would write a review up here at the board, but never send it in to the review page. Didn't Manny do that not too long ago here (if not he, somebody did)? So again, I would love to hear from you Gassers before this joint closes down and see some of you send in some reviews for the LPs that need reviewing - and yes, you can send in a nasty review with a low rating if you like, since there was never a rule stating that reviews had to be positive. DW is the example of that. Anyway, you can check out the album review list standings here (review list) (BTW this is not the album VS standings, this is a totally different list and standings). You can sent in a review by clicking on and following the directions on that same page under where it reads: "add review".... But I know better and won't hold my breath waiting on new reviews, as I have asked for reviews here more than once in the past and saw little or nothing in return from my past pleas.... So go ahead Gassers and lurkers - prove me wrong this time and send in a review or 3!
