Well, Jaded Faded, YOU DO understand, as I suspect everyone else here does. It's a brilliant, beautiful album. I think the reason its not viewed in the same grouping as SF, Exile, and LIB is the style and the themes of the album. Its pretty explicit in its reference to Satan (perhaps more so even than TSMR??) and its as "druggy" as they come. There are tracks that sound trippy and stoned, and tracks that for coming down. Its just weird. I mean, look at some of the album art - a freakin' goat's head in a giant cauldron! And Mick looking like he's got some girl's stocking over his head. You've also got a track with the word "fuck" in it and the mention of a celebrity (Steve McQueen). This pushes some buttons for censors and the legal department.
The album is just all wrong for radio, and for a wide promotion to the general public. Nixon was President when the album came out. The USA was still very conservative and prudish right across the board as was the UK. It was not the world we live in now.
I tend to not put it in my top 3. But I do rank it above Some Girls, and probably just a goat's hair above IORR.
