The 13th Floor Elevators are one of the all time greats. Their debut from '66 is in my top 20 albums of all time, but you have to listen to it in the true band-codified track-order, not the original '66 release order for it to make sense. If done this way, it is a true psychedelic experience buffered by a music style we all know and love. And in mono it is sublime. (We need to have another nice mono-vs.-stereo thread again one of these days)
