RE: RE: Stones VS/Queen/N. Young and the Fabs

With me, I don't listen to the middle LPs a lot, like ER, U, DW, etc. I like the '60s stuff, but I find that the Stones '60s stuff vs the Beatles '60s music lacks big time, as a lot on the Stones early LPs is filler, and that isn't the case at all on Beatles LPs. But as I have noted here over and over throughout the years, was that the reason why I always loved the Stones more as a band wasn't their early LPs compared to the Beatles, it was who the 2 bands were off record. The Stones were me, while only Lennon in the Beatles was me. That is also why today, the modern day Stones turn me off so much (other than their music), because none of that is true anymore, as I'm today nothing at all like who they are. I've gone as far as saying (and I mean it) that I no longer even like who Keith has become, he seems like nothing but a whiny old man today who can't say anything nice about anybody. Yet music wise today I if anything like them even more.

I have been praising and sticking up for their debut LP here as being underappreciated, especially in our Stones album VS polls, and it clearly is, yet for this week's matchup, I won't vote for it since I like what I hear on the ABB more so than what I hear on the debut. The Stones albums released in the last 20 years or so (and there's not a lot of that, not counting live stuff) is overall better than what they released in the '60s, other than their singles of the '60s were light years better than their singles released today.

As far as the rest of my votes for this week, in the other Stones poll, SW was the last of what I called the Stones middle period of releases, and again, I usually don't play these LPs since they don't turn me on, and SW is near the very bottom of my Stones LP list, whereas OOOH might be another '60s LP with great singles on it along with some filler too, but it's still much better than SW! So this match was easy for me to pick a choice from.... Queen vid, gave it a "9", the song itself is clearly a "10", just wish they spent just a bit more time on the video, but it's still very good anyway.... Rock VS, it's rare when I'll rate a Beatles song lower than any other non Beatles song, but in this case, I like the Neil Young song "The Loner" better, because it simply sounds better to me, even if the Beatles song does sound good, just not as much. The lead guitar played by Young on his song is light years better than what I hear on the Fabs number..... Beatles poll, how can anybody who calls themselves a Beatles fan rate Help! less than an "8"? Well the answer is most can't (and the poll numbers show that to be true). I give it a solid "10" myself. It does look odd when 90% vote a super high number for something like this, and just one person votes in the same poll a zero or a one (that hasn't actually happen this week - not yet). It's clear that somebody is doing the wrong drug! Or... more than likely since we are talking about Beatles music, they aren't doing any drugs at all and it shows!
