Great video.
U2's Bono has said in interviews that the Lotus Flower stage was an inspiration.
The Stones did six shows in MSG that tour. I was at one of them, man they were so great! Charlie was on fire.
They did something I've always wished they would do. Switch instruments!
They did it on one song, "Fingerprint File", where Bill played a second keyboard (just like on the album), and Ronnie switched to bass. The Mickster played guitar on stage for the first time. It looked quite weird seeing him play guitar. So it was Mick & Keith on guitars.
It was a very long show (no opening acts). Near the end of the show somebody was passing out incense sticks. Now picture this: over 20,000 incense sticks firing at the same time. Holy crap, even I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. I was getting sick.
Anyway, my hands hurt for a WEEK from all the clapping. Now, I'm quite the introvert, the quiet one. But that night I just lost it all. I was dancing on that seat, nearly tearing it up. Hey! Those are my boys up on that stage!
