Gosh, I loved those little radios! Mine was the only piece of electronic equipment I had and could say was mine as a boy. My 2 older sisters had the record player (why, I don't know, it was suppose to be for all of us to use, but they won't allow me to use it) and all the LPs were theirs. I got a job as a paperboy at 11/12 because of that, it was only then that I could buy my own records. Yet my 2 older sisters never had jobs before they were 17, so where did they get the cash to buy those records? Never thought of that as a kid.
I DO remember was hearing the Beatles German version of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" in German ===> "Komm, gib mir deine Hand". It got some decent airplay (Spring of '64)
Yes, it did, and just like "Con Le Mie Lacrime", it was never released in the U.S. However, "Sie liebt dich", the German version of "She Loves You", was released in the U.S. and was of course heard the most of those 3 songs.
