Funny, I drive my old car almost as much as you bicycle! Normally when you live in the middle of nowhere like I do, you drive more than most, and the average person in the U.S. drives 12,000 miles a year. Yet I only drive about 2,000 miles a year, as I flat out hate driving and I either walk into town whenever I can, or get rides to far away places from my daughter, or friends. But in the summer I don't walk as much if it's hot out, or I go walking either early or late in the day. Town is a mile and a half away from where I live, or 3 miles round trip, and on days when I don't go into town I walk around the block, but walking around the block here is a big hike, about as long as walking into town is, but then you got to climb up the side of a mountain too, so I go up about 800 feet, then come back down about 600 feet to get to my street. Climbing that high up is like hiking another mile plus I'd say, but still, it don't beat your 4 miles a day, either. But walking everyday is the best thing for you, and I feel great after I do it.
