Ironically, the Dallas PD is considered to be exemplary in working with the community. The protest there was peaceful and well-organized in conjunction with local law enforcement. The outliers in this series of tragic events are a small component of racist murderous cops who are self-empowered to act as judge, jury, and executioner in their encounters with black citizens, AND ALSO a handful of irrational and violent individuals who hold all law enforcement to be culpable for the actions of a few. The actions of these violent fringe elements play into the hands of those who would wish to see a race war emerge instead of resolving issues peacefully. And I might add that in this instance Texas' lenient open-carry laws are not helpful in protecting the safety of citizens OR making law enforcement's job any easier. I'm hoping that calmer heads prevail.
