Eagles and Brady

HR, First of all I totally agree with you on the Eagles. They could have a special season. All those off season moves made total sense to me. Kelly is bringing in talent which suits his Offense best and players who "buy in" to his way of doing things. It is a big "IF" but if Sam Bradford can stay healthy that Offense is going to be virtually unstoppable. Finally Kelly has a QB with the arm to hit receivers quick and give them a chance to run and fake after the catch. Plus the Defense is improved. I think the Eagles win the NFC East.

Brady loaded up on truly smart, high priced lawyers. He had a team of them, and the NFL and Goodell had holes in their game all along. Brady's lawyers pointed out the holes, which were numerous. The NFL had punished Brady for being more than likely aware that the balls were being deflated. The judge noted the NFL had never stated that "being generally aware", much less "likely generally aware" that someone else had done something illegal according to NFL rules, constituted any punishment, much less a suspension for a quarter of the season. The judge makes sense to me.

I say Brady likely knew the balls were being deflated but the 5 million dollar NFL report had nothing in it directly linking him to either knowing it was going on or ordering it to take place. I think the NFL was wrong to suspend him for that reason and certainly wrong to suspend him for four games like he was a "caught" performance enhancing drug user or guilty of Domestic assault. The NFL will appeal this decision but I think they should just let it go. We will see down the road if the upcoming appeal is a waste of time or not.
