Medical marijuana has been legal here in Colorado now for something like 15 years - at least, so it's old hat here. I used to have a license to use it for many years, but since it has been legal now for all uses here for 3 years, I see no need for one any longer. True you can have more weed on you if you get a licence, and you can grow double the plants (or more) with one, but I don't need any more than I already have. But with a medical licence, you save big time when you buy it in a store, since there is no added taxes on the medical weed, where the tax is outrageous on the non-medical cannabis. Thing is, you would not believe the many people who give away free weed here now since you can only have an ounce on you (2 or more oz with a medical licence), but when you harvest just one plant, you can have a pound from just one plant if you grow it right, so you got to get rid of a lot of it, and you are allowed to give it away to your friends for free, so a lot of people do that.
There was 2 excellent shows on CNN tonight, one on medical marijuana, and one on recreational weed and how stores here are making a killing off of it. If you missed either show, I suggest you look to see when they air again. Tourists are coming from all over to buy in stores here, but once more states go legal, that will dry up and many of those stores will have to close down unless they lower the tax, since there is no tax if you grow your own, and so many here now do.
But I'm so use to legal weed after so many years that I take it for granted, yet in most other states it's still not legal, and that seems so insane, to say the least. Plus none of that bullshit predicted by conservatives on how bad legal weed would be on people and children, ever happened; it was all a stupid lie, as those of us who have used for years, have known for years that it is harmless and a wonder drug for so many.
