Now, for those of you who like to read about more morbid things, a new study out of Australia was made and just released on the death of rock stars - on how they die and at what age they die on average, compared to how us normal folks die. 12,665 musicians who died between 1950 and June 2014, were looked at for their longevity, and if their deaths were caused by suicide, murder, injury or accident. Average age of the death for a rock star is even lower than that of an NFL player, at 56 years. (But a side note from me, as the surviving old rockers age and then died from old age, this number in about 10 years times will rise for sure.)
This study also showed that the age where most young rockers died, is not 27, that age and the 27 club is just a myth, the actual age where most young rockers have died is 28. But yes, the most famous of the bunch have all died at 27, and why fans think it's 27.
A interesting graph shows how rockers and others die. You would not be surprised to learn from which genre of all music and also just inside rock music, where the most died from homicide, and from suicide (take a guess).
