RE: Phil Rudd, Arrested4 Procuring a Murder?

First, I heard tonight that the some of the charges are going to be dropped against Rudd, including the murder for hire charge.

Of course he would not be the first. I'm thinking of OJ Simpson and former Patriots Tight End, Aaron Hernandez. And there have been more.

If you're talking about football players only, yes, there's a lot more players in trouble, especially if you add in domestic violence and drug cases. But in my comments I was just talking about rock stars. Crap, football players are made out to be some kind of national heroes by Americans while rockers are made out to be trouble makers and a bad influence on our youth by the establish types in the US, yet look at all the facts when you compare things. There are a lot more rock stars out there than NFL football players, yet for the most part, the only time most rockers get in trouble with the law are usually for victimless crimes like weed and other drug arrests. Just how many rockers have been in trouble like Rudd is in now? Almost none is the answer! We had Sid Vicious years ago who was facing murder charges for killing his girlfriend before he killed himself, and then there were some who felt Jerry Lee Lewis was behind 3 different deaths of his family members, including 2 drowning deaths, the first for his 3 year old son's drowning in 1962 and then when it happened again to his fourth wife in the early '80s whom he was in the middle of a bitter divorce case with. Then even more people accused him of also abusing and killing his 5th wife who he was only married to for something like 60 days when she was killed. Yet he was never charged with any crimes at all, so in a way you can't even officially count any of that since nothing ever came from what people were saying, although I guess it's still worth noting since he was accused by some. But who else in rock music has had this kind of problem with killing, or being accused of killing another person? Well one of rock's best ever session drummers, Jim Gordon, killed his mother, but he wasn't really looked at as a rock star, even if he played this drums on so many top 10 hits and wrote and played the famous piano solo on Eric Clapton's "Laya". The other thing was that he was mentally ill and suffering from schizophrenia. Then finally there's Phil Spector who was convicted of murder (and who was also mentally ill), but while he was big time famous, he wasn't famous for being a rock star, but for being perhaps the #1 rock producer of all time. Yet that's about it for rockers who have been accused of, or convicted of, killing anybody goes, really almost none to note but those few.
