It seems hard to believe that a major, nationwide company like Fairpoint Communications, a full week later, is still having major email problems affecting their entire system, but they are. I just got off the phone with them and they seem to be in the dark with this problem that they are having. Lots of mail is lost and they can only say that a spam attack a week ago on their main server caused this mess. They actually rebuilt their email program, and the new program they are using is a mess and very poorly put together, then hours after they started it up last Friday night, these "new" problems started to happen.
So yes, I'm still not getting 95% of the emails I normally get each day and it appears sometime last night I stop getting all new mail, and I have no clue how much of the emails I sent out are getting thru. This comes at a particularly bad time for me as I'm about to launch a new cam website on my domain and in the last few days was waiting to hear back from a few places on if they wanted their cams used or not on the new site.
So that's where I'm at right now. I'm thinking it might be time to find a new emails service, but changing your main email account is always a pain in the ass especially when you got a big domain like I got. That's why a year ago when I left Fairpoint for a new ISP, I kept their email service. Anyway, if you need to write me, go ahead and try, but I may or may not receive your mail. As far as needing a new webmaster here at the board, well I still need help, but haven't thought enough on how to go about doing this.
Finally, since I noted it above, if you would like to check out this new cam site I'm working on, it's for New York state, and it shows cams from all over New York, just like the site I've had up for Colorado for the last 3 years. My Colorado site has become one of the domain's most busiest sites, so that's why I started this new one. But just working on the NYC part of this site really had me jonesing to visit there again, it's been 7 years since the last time I was there and just seeing all the places around NYC again made me miss the place badly. Anyway, if you want a sneak peak of this new site, just remember it's still under construction, and not everything is up yet and some of the site will change, but here is it's home page: New York State Webcams. I would say, drop me a line and let me know what you think of it so far, but again, I may or may not get your email.
