I doubt we'll see a "Duets" album from the Stones

I know there was a news story that said that Ron Wood "hinted" at it and the Mick also had a comment about such a project having been considered. But I just don't see it happening. First of all, we'd have to have them seriously looking at doing anything in the studio and we haven't heard much talk of that. But as for this somewhat tired concept of a Duets album (seems every older recording artist does one nowadays) I just don't think it's their style.

What I could see is a future album with two or three "guest" performers, either on vocals or instruments. This is entirely common in pop and rock music. But as for making the whole premise of an album a pairing of the Stones with other established artists - forget it. I don't think its what fans want. We want the Stones - unadulterated (their personal lives excluded!) We want their distinctive sound and style.

The Stones have done duets, such as with BB King on Payin' The Cost To Be The Boss. It was good but I'm not sure if I want a whole record of it.
