Where Is Paul K? MP3s & The RS Mag 500 SSC

Paul K, is another Gasser who has been very generous to me sending me Stones boots (complete with artwork) in the not so distant past. Everything he sent me was high quality. And he would break it down in emails like no one else.... In his own well written, well thought out, yet artistic way. A true music lover and a huge fan of the Stones particularly when Mick Taylor was onboard the rocket ship '69-'74.

I miss reading his posts here. I never missed a Paul K post or reply. He was a poet when he described Mick Taylor playing guitar.

Well one of the surprises Paul K sent me years ago was a DVD disc with the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs in MP3 form. Because I am no genius on a computer I looked at that gift at the time as if Paul had sent me 500 great 45 singles but I lived in a log cabin without electricity and no phonograph.

Long story short, I recently discovered our work vans have a plug in for MP3 players, Ipods, etc so I got excited and ran out to buy me one to download some albums and CD compilations on for work. While I was downloading a few of the cobwebs of my memory went away long enough to recall that DVD Paul K had sent me. I had not seen it around in years. Terror struck me I might never find it. I was perpared to look for hours. That is when something I'll never forget happened. I reached for the first slim CD case in the middle of a sea of such cases in my mammoth CD shelf CD case which is six feet buy 4 feet and holds about 2000 CDs. You can't label those slim CD holders so I grabbed one kind of in the middle and guess what that CD case contained? That's Right! The Rolling Stone 500 greatest songs of All Time! The one Paul K sent me about six to ten years ago, and I had not seen in years.

So thanks again Paul K. Once again I feel rich from an awesome gift of music you sent me. I've been actually looking forward to work lately.

And should you read this Paul, I think you will get pleasure in knowing I met a guy Friday night who saw the Stones in Charlotte in 1972. You should have seen his face when I told him I can burn him a copy of the show he attended all those decades ago. The guy was 16 when he saw the Stones that year. I can burn him a copy of 'Bring It Back Alive', because of the copy you sent me years ago. Thanks.

Here is the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs I have been listening to lately:
