I only had on the radio in the last week. But yesterday I was surprised to hear from my daughter Jackie that my grandson Cooper has "discovered" the Stones, in part thanks to my book. He just turned 12 a week go, and since he lived most of his first 8 years with me, he heard a lot of the Stones music playing in the background, but I don't think he really listened to the music, other than he always loved SFTD. Last summer when he was here he was playing that song over and over again, so I suggested he try a few other songs on the album, but he didn't, he just kept playing that one song.... About 2 to 3 months ago he asked me if he was old enough to read my book. I had told him a few years back when it came out that he wasn't old enough to read it, and he really didn't seem to care about reading it or any other book at that point in his childhood. But this time I told him yeah, you're old enough to read it, but I noted to him that what I wrote in there about drug use wasn't to be taken by him as a cool thing. Anyway, I guess after he read the book, he wanted to know more about the Stones and started to play his mother's Let It Bleed CD. According to Jackie, he's totally hooked on the LP now, blasting it everyday, and he told her that the CD was his now. That news put a smile on my face, there is nothing like seeing your kids discover the same music you dig - totally on their own. Jackie is the only one of my 8 kids and grandkids who digs the Stones a lot, and she really didn't get into them until her early 20s. So yes, Coop is listening to LIB nonstop and he now digs the Stones, well, at least LIB, I hope he picks up another Stones LP soon.
