This week we enter week 666 of our Stones poll, not week 668. The other day when I built this week’s poll, I noticed in the program I use, that the week number was at 666 for his new poll, yet I remembered that I had posted about it being week 666 2 weeks back, so what was up? I checked the poll’s number system and all was fine, and couldn’t figure why I was two weeks ahead in the poll post. But as I just opened the Word doc that I save the poll post in each week, I realized that last week’s poll was noted to be week 667, so somehow I got the numbers wrong in this Word doc a few weeks back, and only because 666 is a number to remember, I only just noticed the mistake. Must have been the devil in me to make such a mistake with such a number, I guess.
Well, here’s the question for week 666: What is the best Acoustic Guitar heard in a Stones song? Hard to believe that we never asked this question before. We’ve asked for best lead, rhythm, slide, 12-string, riff, etc., for guitar playing in the past, but never this one. I realized months ago that I never ran this question for the Stones when I used it in the Beatles poll, and I noticed too that asking for the best bass in a Stones song is yet another question never asked, and a few others along those lines. But such questions take time to put together, so last week I made the time, and was able to get this acoustic question set up for this new week.
The Stones have some great acoustic guitar playing in several songs, picking one isn’t gonna be easy. To check out the song list and vote in this week’s poll, just click here: Stones Weekly Poll.
In last week’s Stones poll we asked: What is the most childlike sounding Stones song? Sometimes you just never know. I decided last week to go with this poll question less than an hour before the poll was scheduled to start. I had been holding on to this question to use for a week when I had nothing else in mind or had no time to work on a good question. But I didn’t think it was the greatest of questions, but now that the poll results are in, it turned out to be a very popular question, ending with the second highest vote count so far this year.
“Dandelion” was the top pick in the poll, with 29.7% of the vote. “She's A Rainbow”, the song I went with, placed, with 22.4%, and “Something Happened to Me Yesterday” was third at 19.2%. Yes, those songs do sound child-like.

Now for week 308 of the Classic Rock Poll, the question is: What is the best Rock song about the night, or night life? (Part 3 of 3) Yes, it’s time to see which song will be picked here in the third week of asking this question. But first, let’s look at the results from Part 2, held last week. The top 10 spots from this poll contain 11 songs because of a 4 way tie for 8th place. They will be voted on again this week in Part 3, along with the Top 10 songs from Part 1. Part 2’s Top Ten are: “Midnight Rambler” and “Rocks Off”, both by The Stones, tied at 5.6%; “Here Comes the Night” by both Them and solo Van Morrison (4.7%), “Hollywood Nights” by Bob Seger (4.7%), “Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett (4.7%); “Whatever Gets You Through The Night” by John Lennon (4.7%), “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC (4.7%); “A Hard Day's Night” by The Beatles (4.3%). “After Midnight” by Eric Clapton (4.3%), “Moonlight Drive” by The Doors (4.3%), and “We've Got Tonight” by Bob Seger (4.3%).

Okay, let’s head over to the Beatles weekly poll, where it’s week 61, where we will now learn what is everybody’s favorite song written by John Lennon, as we ask: What is your favorite Beatles song written by John Lennon (Part 3)? We have listed the top 22 songs picked from Parts 1 and 2 to choose from in Part 3.
To vote this poll, just click here: Beatles Weekly Poll.
In last week’s Beatle’s poll, we ran two polls, asking: What is your favorite Beatles song written by Paul McCartney? (Parts 1 and 2) . The top ten spots picked from Part 1 were: “Hey Jude”, in a landslide at 13.6%, followed by “All My Loving” (5%); “Helter Skelter” (4.5%); “Blackbird”, and “I Got A Feeling” (both at 4.3%); “Eleanor Rigby” and “ I Saw Her Standing There” (both at 4.1%); and “Golden Slumbers” “Good Day Sunshine”, “Here, There, and Everywhere”, and “Lady Madonna” all at 3.8%.
For Part Two in the second poll the finish was: “Let It Be” (12.6%); “Paperback Writer” (5.9%); “Penny Lane” (4.9%); “You Never Give Me Your Money” (4.6%); and a six way tie for fifth place between “Lovely Rita”, “She's Leaving Home”, “The Fool on the Hill”, “The Long and Winding Road”, “Two of Us”, and “Yesterday”, all receiving 4.4% of the vote.

We will vote on the final top Macca songs in Part 3 of this question, next week.
Thanks to all of you who voted in all 3 of this week's polls, and who also voted in all 4 of last week’s polls!
