In the whole Stones-iv-erse this is a pretty obscure song. But I am happy that Keno picked it because I have no listened to it in a long time and its a delight to hear it again. It's good! And A Bigger Bang is a solid album. My rating for the song is probably around a 6½ if I am rating it compare to other Stones songs.
And yes, 15 years is a long time to go without an album of all original material. And yes, the Stones get a pass for this because of their sheer impact on our culture, the fact that they keep touring, and have released enough singles and other stuff that there's always something to check out. And 15 years doesn't seem like that long in the Stones world, does it? I remember the late 80s, I was still in high school. Led Zeppelin were still hugely popular. Everyone had them on CD and you heard them all the time at parties. At that time, say around 1988, Zeppelin hadn't had an album out since around 1980. 8 years just seemed like so log ago. Even in University in the early 1990s, 15 years prior sounded like you were speaking of another era. But now, 15 years... that's just a little while back.
I hope that in 2030 we're still posting here and talking about the Stones, and that great album they released 9 years back in the Fall of 2021!!
