Yes, I vaguely recall reading very bad reviews of it. It might have even been their worst reviewed album of the 1970s. It opens with a really disjointed sound that probably threw some people off. Add to that the fact that even the best Stones work often takes people time to get into. I don't place GHS in my 'big 5' Stones albums, but its comes soon after that list and its knocking at the door
