I don't think he ever got to the stage of playing slide in an open tuning, which is pretty important. Off the top of my head, white slide players who could smoke Brian's butt would include Duane Allman, Lowell George (ok, technically those guys are DEAD so they can't play better than him NOW), Ry Cooder, Mick Taylor, Ron Wood, and my buddy Mitch Ivanoff.

On my last post, a reply to Keno's I said "and others." Looking back I see it was the distinguished "Fleabit Peanut Monkey." I apologize for the gaff. (It's like the song to "Gilligan's Island": "..and the rest" as opposed to "..The professor and Maryann." I always enjoy reading your posts and Keno's.
