ROLLING STONES LYRICS
Written about Linda Keith, who first dated Keith Richards, then after they broke up, she dated Brian Jones. After she broke up with Jones, she then dated Jimi Hendrix. The lyrics were written by Jones and Richards together after their breakups with her, while the music was written by Jones alone. Mick Jagger had no hand in writing the song, yet Jones was never credited for his work, instead, Jagger was. Some believe this
song was where the riff between Jones and the Glimmer Twins started, as
this wasn't the first time Jones wrote music for the Stones and wasn't
credited. Years later, Mick Taylor would leave the band for this same
reason, and Bill Wyman also noted this was part of the reason why he in
time left the band, too. Other artists also noted having the same issues
with the Glimmers - who to this day, have never addressed these claims.
