RE: RE: RE: 2 more replies

(BTW, what's the difference between this official release and the L&G DVDs that have been around for years?) .

I believe they added a song or two, I'm not sure, and MJ speaks at the beginning of it - although somebody here said that isn't going to be in the DVD, only in the movie showings.

I was talking to my insider Stones' friend James, who has more rare and never seen videos of the band than anybody around, including even MJ or Keef - they been going to him for years for old rare stuff (the old footage shown in Shine A Light is his stuff). He told me of video he has of several excellent songs from that tour that nobody has ever seen (he keeps his stuff away from bootleggers) that are in excellent condition. He said it was filmed in the same way as the movie and he offered it to the producers. But they didn't want to use it because it wasn't from those 2 shows shown in the movie.

I'm in the same boat you are Keno: I'd have to drive upwards of two hours to Vermont, and back, in order to see the film in a theatre. Not to mention that I'd have to explain to my friendly neighbourhood customs officials why I need to go all that way just to catch a film. LOL.

I've told this story here in the past, not sure if you were around back then, but me and my first wife were in Canada, driving to Toronto for a visit one day (we had been in Detroit the day before and were heading to Toronto from that direction) when the radio station we had on (coming in from the States), noted that the Stones were to be on TV that night - on Saturday Night Live! We had been on the road for a week and didn't know anything about it. So I asked Sue, do they get America TV in Toronto? She didn't know and we didn't want to take a chance on missing the Stones, so we decided to change our plans and headed for Buffalo, which was hours away, and we didn't even know if we would get there in time. Of course, at the border crossing they saw I was a longhair, so they took forever and checked every damn thing in the car, as they were hoping to find drugs (we did have weed on us, but not in the car itself). Anyway, we got into Buffalo and into a hotel room with about 10 minutes to spare before the show started. But yes, we changed plans just like that, and actually fled one country and headed to another one just to see the Stones live on TV! When the hell was that anyway, '78? I'm so bad with years!

i know exaclty what you mean. Because i have moved so much, i started thinknig about that ahead of time, and gone as far as making sure the layout of a room is a certain way, so i can get easy access to the back of a tv or stereo... and no matter how much i try to keep it organized, it still ends up being a cluster of plaugs and wires stuffed and jammed together... so as not to combine the watching and hooking up... get it over weith now, so it will be ready on release date.. you opinions and reviews will be very important...

I ordered the DVD last night, so that should get me motivated to hook up the damn DVD! I'm also suppose to be getting some free DVDs of the Stones from the '70s playing in the UK any day, too. I got to get that thing hooked up asap!
