RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: The Who (NSC)

Well, one thing about the homo sapiens species, there's an abundance of differing perceptions that run through our population, and it's not just limited to religion or politics either! I perceive The Stones as a remnant trio (and from a historical standpoint, there should be 5 faces in that band), and The Who as a remnant duo. For me, the real Who ceased to exist when Keith died. He was arguably more important to what The Who was all about than Brian was in the Stones, and I would rate Brian's overall significance in the Stones as being on a par with Mick and Keith. And Entwistle's untimely departure from The Who watered them down even further. It's just not the same once those guys are gone. Ronnie was without a doubt the best possible additon to the Stones line-up, but he's still a replacement for a replacement and as such not a bona-fide Stone. Sorry, but I will never be able to shake that. Again, that's just my perception and I certainly respect yours and any others.

BTW -- The Two did release an album of all-new material a couple of years ago entitled "Endless Wire". It's not "Who's Next" by any means but the material is arguably better than the albums they put out while Kenny Jones was in the drummer's seat. Jones was actually accorded membership in the band, but I put him in the same category as Ronnie since he wasn't there at the beginning and had no role in crafting their style of music.
