It really depends on what you like in your personal life. If you enjoy rugged outdoors things (hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing, etc.), then western states are great. Colorado, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, etc. If you like beaches, coastal states are better. If you like cultural (concerts, museums, etc.) you go somewhere where there are large population centers.
I think there are a couple of states in the deep south that would be pretty tough to take. Hot, humid weather, very little going on economically, education system not the best, and so on.
Me, I like where I'm at in Montana, but we really could use more along the cultural lines. We don't have a big enough population for good concerts, plays, museums, etc. Thank God we have an international airport here in Great Falls, and can fly elsewhere when we really have a Jones on for something like that!
