Bigger Bang is and was a GREAT album...and the poor souls who are looking for a return of the jimmy miller days will be dead and gone looking for it....Even the some girls days...(chris kimsey).
the way records are recorded now do not help the stones sound..
the old analogue recordings, the stones could use the darker, unclear way it copies the sound to their benefit..again the sound of Exile was a big problem for many of the record reviewers of the day that Jagger in a interview blamed the muddy sound on the way it got mixed...NOW MOST PEOPLE LOVE THE SOUND!!
If anyone got the stickey fingers remastered lp in the late 70's it even stated on the lp that Keith richards uses distortion in his guitar to deepen the sound..and that the remaster may highlight it more than intened...
Now with eveything recorded in digital the sound can come over as too clean and sterile. In the old days they used layering of the sound to make it deeper and somewhat un- clear... today you just can't do it!!
(play a cd and then go play a LP..different sound alltogether).
I read that the people who don't like BIGGER BAND was because of its PRODUCTION...sad----but to me it is great and clear....you can hear every note! and its the true return of Mick jagger, keith richards and CHarlie watts...less session players, horns,etc... RJ and onnya was hard hitting un-pop like songs....and the 2 KEITH solos' on the album are the best he had done since TY...and the best 2 tracks on one album that he has EVER DONE!
But like anything....not everyone is going to like it...but just because you don't, doesn't mean it sucks!!

anyway it out sold many other records of the day...and as long as Jagger richards still want to work i'm happy to hear it..its what they are into at that time...and i think they will build on BANG and the next album will be different ...and even better...
