No, I've never seen any of us who see the light on how great an LP Bang is, say that. Perhaps when it first came out it was stated that some were just looking for a new EOMS, ok, but I haven't heard that argument in ages.
I know when I have to counter against a negative comment on ABB, it has nothing to do with any of that. It isn't even aimed towards the person who makes the claim. My comments go out to the new lurker here, who doesn't know the LP, and is reading that negative point of view. I do not want such a person to believe that most fans of the band feel this way, when the truth is that most Stones fans love the LP.
As I pointed out a few months ago - it is the same people who complain about this LP over and over - and who claim that they don't (just read the beginning of this latest debate and look who started it, it WAS NOT started by a pro ABB poster). Yet I was wrong on one thing a few months ago when I also said that perhaps the anti- ABB posters should just drop it. I may be sick of hearing how bad this LP is from the same people over and over, true, but that is too bad for me. This is a Stones board and even if such comments appear to almost come close to flooding, in truth and the more I think of it, it isn't flooding, they would have to come up everyday to be a flood.

Of course it is, but ABB doesn't suck, it doesn't even come close to sucking. ABB is not only a GREAT album, it is the best thing the Stones have done since SG, and it is better than SG. No, it isn't the best thing Keef has ever done and I don't think he will ever be where he was at around the time of LIB, but shit, even his limited stuff on Bang is excellent.

Again, I know with myself anyway, I do not do that to my fellow fans, but damn-it, I will defend this great LP. But I understand the feeling, too. I wish some here would understand this feeling when it comes to some of the terrible songs I hear on Exile, songs that truly suck to me. There is no question for me, that overall, if you take ABB and EOMS, Exile might have the better overall songs on it, yes, but it also has some total throwaways, where as Bang has none. No question for me, Bang is by far a better double LP, and I've made this statement before and mean it, yet some will still try to tell me I'm nuts for saying this. Guess what, I'm not nuts, nor are you, we just hear these two LPs differently, that's all. I'm sure you and most here are sick of hearing me saying how there are a bunch of bad songs on Exile, just as I and many others are sick of hearing that there are bad songs on ABB. I'll stop making this claim when those of you who don't dig Bang stop your assault on that great LP. Okay?
