Why would I automatically hate a new album? The only one in the entire catalog I don't like is ABB. I wouldn't care who made that album, I'd think it was an overproduced pile of crappy ideas and uninspired playing, singing and especially writing.
As for their classic albums being panned, some of them have been, but generally they've been mixed reviews, some good some bad. The one thing their classic albums have that ABB won't is that they held people's interest and people kept playing them. I haven't heard anything from ABB since it was released, and I know I'm never going to play it again. That doesn't mean I won't hope that if they did release a new album it wouldn't be at least tolerable.
