Well, 2K, since you asked:
This looks and sounds very odd on a Stones board and coming from someone who grew up on '60's rock, but lately I've been a journey of discovery about Frank Sinatra. It's not just his voice, phrasing and personality, but the songs...the melodies, the lyrics. Cole Porter songs are wonderful. But it is the arrangements and musicianship that knock me out. Nelson Riddle and Gordon Jenkins have a type of genius for scripting that music. The music can really swing. There is a '67 TV special with Frank, Ella Fitzgerald and Jobim that is a joy. I have no doubt Frank and Riddle's performance of "Day In - Day Out" would bring a smile to the face of anyone on this board. It absolutely smokes.
"Caaan't you see it's love?
Can there be any doubt?
When there it is...day in and daaaaay ooooout!"
I do not like all of it, but what I like I REALLY like. And yes, there are Frank boots.
A couple of weeks age we had this doggy birthday party. Some friends were over and we had 5 dogs running rough shod around the yard, jumping in and out of the pool. I was at the BBQ listening to a Frank disc and having this weird '50's back yard time trip image running in my head. It was amusing and not at all unpleasant. It might have been the T&T.
