REVIEW Another solid effort with this one. Seven of the twelve tunes are written by Jagger/Richards or the band (Nanker-Phelge). With "Satisfaction" and it's great riff (written by Keith Richards in his sleep!), the Stones established not only their best song up to that point in time, but the most defined rock single put out by anyone in the '60s. What a great guitar riff by Keef! To think that Keith and Mick Jagger didn't even want the song released, but they were out voted to do so by Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Ian Stewart. There's also other gems on this album including "The Last Time", with Brian playing an outstanding lead guitar, and the simple and mellow - but to the point, "Play With Fire". The covers found on here are good, but not as good as the bands originals. I think by this point in time the Boys were starting to realize that their days as a cover band was fading - thank goodness for that! - Keno, 1998 *Old Ratings vs. New Ratings The old ratings that you see here were from back in 1998 when I first rated the album for this site. Since time does change one's point of view, I decided to listen to and rate this album again, doing so in late 2005. Also note that I did not look at the old ratings from 1998 until after I placed my new ratings here.
