: : Ever hear "When The Shit Hits The Fans"?
: : Do you mean the old Circle Jerks song?
: No, it's a classic Replacements bootleg from the 80's. They do really bad drunken versions of Kiss songs, Black sabbath songs, and so on. I always assumed they were doing what you described (I REALLY would have LOVED your band), but maybe Tommy & Bob LIKED Kiss and Sabbath. Who knows?
: When we finally get that Stonesworld band together, we will have to play "Watching Scotty Grow" and some teenage death songs!
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
No, but I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!
(I will explain) An early version of the band I told you about OPENED FOR THE REPLACEMENTS in 84 or 85 on their Let It Be Tour. I hung out with them before, during and after the gig. Even did a little of this and ALOT of THAT with them. I even played on one song that night with them because Bob was at a certain point BEYOND FUCKED UP!! I mean he layed down on stage with his head INSIDE the bass drum and TRIED to play. (I played on a really BAD cover of Ziggy Stardust) FOR YEARS i've wished that I had a tape of that evening and would have if our band had not already broken down our stuff and loaded it in the van. That night I remember (a little of it anyway) they did Black Diamond,a Zep one I don't remember,Love grows where my rosemary grows etc. They hardly did any of their own stuff. I got the impression that that night they really did'nt want to be doing the gig? We were paired together because of the similarities. (In fact I even look ALOT like Paul Westerburg-not identical twins but similar. That night our band learned something that probably saved our lives. We use to think we took things a little to much but these guys were BEYOND us in terms of knowing when to say when. And Tommy was just this little kid practically. When Bob died it really did'nt suprise me after what I witnessed onstage (and more offstage) Wouldn't it be wild if that bootleg was at least in part from My Night? After the gig Tommy,Paul smashed the sink in the restroom into thousands of little pieces and got nailed for it by the promoter who deducted it from their gate. I'm certain that that night my band made MORE money than they did do to this fact! Wow! I am really excited about this. Thank's!! JIMMY
